Students will write a five-paragraph narrative essay that demonstrates what they have learned in this course about writing. The main topic of the essay will be a reflection of what the student has learned about academic writing. Subtopics may include reflections on the writing process, grammar rules, MLA formatting, styles of essays, or other areas in which the student has experienced learning. Students may give examples of lessons that were the most helpful as well as examples of lessons that were the least helpful. The final exam essay should demonstrate knowledge of organization, thesis development, paragraph development, transitions, and correct grammar and sentence structure. First-person pronouns are acceptable; however, second-person pronouns and contractions are not acceptable as they are informal and non-academic.
