You will compose an essay where your goal is to evaluate/judge the quality of a movie/television show and argue for why you think is the best or most significant, etc. within its genre, and offer concrete, logical support for your judgment. The goal is to support your judgment with sound, fair,thorough evidence based on clearly established and fair criteria, and to make comparisons between the movie/television show you select and the others in the same genre. The following minimum requirements must be met in order to receive credit for the essay.
Embolden (put in BOLD) your complete thesis (includes the main reasons/criteria) in the intro., and also where the main reasons/criteria are introduced in the body of the essay.
Length: 3 1/2-5 pages, double-spaced in Times New Roman/Calibri. Clarification: Only the body text of the essay is included in the word count (not the cover page,abstract, title, header, or works cited page).
Outside Sources. At least two sources and no more than four must be used for this essay.Appropriate sources consists of scholarly and other reputable sources found using both library, internet, and/or field research. All source material must be cited in-text, APA style, and you must include a full works cited on the last page of the essay (though the works cited list does not count as a page toward the essay’s minimum page-count expectations).
The review should neither be all glowing or all negative. To be critical, there must be elements of both.
Avoid merely explaining what the subject is “about.” Instead, “evaluate” its quality. This essay is all about evaluation.
