Explain the elements of the study in your own words. – Identify the independent variables and explain how they are manipulated. – Identify the dependent variables and explain how they are measured. – Briefly describe the procedure. 2. Explain (again in your own words) the purpose of the pre-deliberation measurement. What did the author expect to find on this variable and why? Were the results consistent with expectation? 3. What were the other results? That is, what effect did diversity have on jury decision making after deliberation? Briefly summarize and explain the results in your own words. 4. Critical thinking use the concepts discussed this week in the text and lecture to help explain the findings. That is, connect the results with at least one concept from this weeks course material. However, it is fairly easy to understand. One strategy to help yourself if to cross out the numerical values for the statistical tests and focus on the written descriptions that accompany them. As always, I am less concerned that you understand all the nitty-gritty details and more focused on your ability to identify the main ideas.
