Choose an appropriate scripture that reflects the theme or message of the poem. Write a well-developed devotional of approximately 2–3 pages in length. Be sure to include specific lines from the poem in addition to the scripture verse or passage. The purpose of this essay is to allow you to interweave poetry and scripture. Use the lines from the poem to reinforce the scripture reference you’ve chosen. Think about the theme of the poem, select and appropriate scripture, then think about what you might say to a group of Christian writers if you were asked to discuss the poem.
