Organize a thesis and supporting evidence for a five-paragraph essay. Following the attached template create an outline on the speech “The Ballot or the Bullet” using three of the rhetorical devices from the attached chart (Purpose, ETHOS and Repetition). Use parallelism and unity to help strengthen your thesis. Write three topic sentences using the main ideas presented in the thesis. Check for UNITY: Do the topic sentences line up with the thesis claim and main ideas? Are all the ideas stated clearly and fluently? Have you used transition words or phrases to segue your reader from one main idea to the next? Develop each body paragraph idea with adequate supporting evidence (quotes, paraphrases) from the speech and then add explanation/analysis to show how that evidence supports your topic sentence.
