Faulkner’s A Rose for Emily – Reason for Emily’s Insanity

After each member has selected their topic, then each member will write ONE page (it can be more but at least one FULL page) supporting their argument. It must be double spaced, size 12, and times New Roman. This claim MUST be supported by quotes from the story. Again, make sure you back up what you say by using quotes or evidence from the story. Also, do not jam enormous quotes just to fill up space. Your part of the essay should consist of 15-20% of quotes and the rest should be your own analysis. In addition, each member must find ONE article on a website or database that supports their argument or that talks about a similar issue. For example, if you are claiming that Emily went insane because the townspeople were gossiping too much about her, then find an article online that talks about gossip and its harmful effects on the individual. This will change depending on what topic you are doing. If you are claiming that the father was very domineering and jealous, then find an article that talks about the harmful effects that a domineering father can have on his daughters. You must use quotes or paraphrase from this article to support your claim. Make sure to use in-text citations and write a Works Cited at the end of your one page.
