Professors instructions: You will be writing a critical analysis of your film, examining how the film presents a historical subject and why you think it does so. This is not a recap of the film or how it gets the history right or wrong. This is about what the filmmakers are trying to say and how they use history to say it. You should use at least 3 outside sources for this paper. You can use my lectures and in-class readings, but they do not count toward this 3 source minimum. Make sure you focus on academic sources or legitimate journalism. No Google, Wikipedia, or history.com, etc. It will be 6-7 pages, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins on all sides of the paper. Cite your sources with either MLA or Chicago format. My instructions: The movie that I was assigned for this paper was Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and the time period it’s set in is the Great Depression. The most important thing for this paper is explaining what was going on around the time of movie release (1967) in America and American film, and then using that information to explain why the creators of the film chose to make/release the movie how/when they did. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any additional information, I have one source from The New Yorker that I’d love for you to use, but the other 2 academic sources are up to you: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/1967/10/21/bonnie-and-clyde
