You must use at least six scholarly sources for your information. After selecting your topic, choose a format for the project from one of the following options: Research Paper Present your findings in a formal academic research paper. This must adhere to MLA structure with regards to citation of sources. The paper must be between 1300-1500 words with an additional cover page, and a works cited/bibliography page. Use a standard font, one-inch margins and double spacing. 1. Introduction: This section should introduce your topic and clearly identify the scope of your project. You should specify the approach that you took and types of materials used. 2. Body: This section is where you discuss your topic and findings in detail, in a logical sequence, and most importantly should answer your questions. Any information that you are using directly or indirectly from a source other than your own knowledge or opinion MUST be credited to that source. Be sure to put your topic into historical perspective. In other words, how does this research help you (and your reader) to better understand some aspect of U.S. history an event, an era, an ideology etc? 3. Conclusion: This final section should restate the results of your research briefly, covering only main points. It should inform the reader of what you learned, and make some observation of your experience in doing this project. If you have unanswered questions or perhaps have new questions in your mind now that you have done this project indicate that in the conclusion also.
