Here are sample theories (you need to choose concepts in 2 different bullet points) Theory X & Y Maslows hierarchy of needs 3 stages of employee socialization concepts from ch. 6 (critical theory): ideology, hegemony 2 out of 5 conflict management styles (your choice which ones) 2 out of 5 managerial tactics of communicating change (table 10.2) Trait and transformational leadership styles Emotions in the workplace: emotional labor, workplace stress 2 out of 3 types of social support/communicative coping (emotional, informational, instrumental) 2 out of 3 concepts: glass ceiling, mommy track, tokenism Media Richness Theory After choosing the theories, write a paper with the following structure: Introduction (includes information about your role in the organization and preview of the theories applied in the paper) Body (different concepts in separate paragraphs) Conclusion (evaluate how the theories work and what could be improved to increase employee morale, communication and/or productivity based on the theories and your examples and observations). Explain how concepts from chapter 6 on critical and feminist approaches (min. 3 different ones) apply to specific examples from media. If you choose this option, you would need to watch (or re-watch) a movie or documentary (examples are: Miss Representation available on Netflix or Corporation available on Youtube).
