The title of chapter three of Darwins The Origin of Species is Struggle for Existence. This chapter importantly characterizes all biological life as in competition with other forms of life for its very survival. Such an inherently competitive relationship, by the way, was adopted by some 19th century sociologists as a model for envisioning human society which came to be known as social Darwinism. Discuss what Darwin means by the struggle for existence. Be specific as to how Darwin describes this struggle.
